`94 Winchester NRA 26" Musket

Just had a good look at an NRA Centennial Commemorative `94 Winchester Musket in .30-30 - 26 inch barrel with a full length stock. Would presume it was made in 1971. Flip-up ladder type rear sight calibrated to 2000 yards!!??

Pushed sight notch all the way down and 150 gr reloads shot 6 inches high at 50 yards. Velocity was increased 150 fps over a 20 inch carbine.

Receiver is tapped for a Williams 5D receiver sight. Would replace rear sight with a Marble blank and install a 5D.

Anyone have any experience and recommendations with this rifle?

I've got one, I think they were made more to look at then shoot. I had to build up the front site and dress it down to get point of impact on. They are alot of fun and get alot of looks at the range. I think the 2000 yard setting is pretty optomistic unless you're Billy Dixon.
