9 twist 257AI

The barrel on my old Ruger 77TS, 257AI has died. It happened pretty fast, all of a sudden it just will not group. It always shot 100 gr Hornady's with my load 1/2 -3/4 moa, now it's 2" to 3"moa. A Hornady 100 gr sp just barely makes it into the case when checked with Stoney Point tool. Bullet jump at present seating depth around .080. I'm thinking about a 9 twist 24" Rock Creek or others that are recommended, as it never shot bullets heavier then 100 gr reliably. Any advise appreciated. Barlow

A 10 twist will work just fine, but the 9 twist is the way to go if you are going to shoot bullets heavier than 100 grains. I'm having a 250 Ackley built right now with a Brux 9 twist barrel.

Have you had any other 9 twist 25's,if so, how did they work? Barlow
