8x32 NXS

I have a 5.5x22-50mm NXS, but am looking at the 8x32. My question is how often are you able to take advantage of the additional magnification over the 22 power,due to mirage ?
Are you able to use the 32x scope at 32, or does mirage mostly limit the use to the mid 20x range? 90% of the time I don't have to much trouble using my 5.5x22 NXS @ 22x, but wondered how much use I would get out of the 32x before I spent the money.

My first 1000yard BR gun had a 8.5-25 Leupold, then went to 8x32 BR Nightforce's, but now both my light and heavy guns wear 12x42 BR's, that I generally alway shoot at 42X.

I am currently using a Nightforce NXS 8x32x56 on my 6BR. I love it. I use the high magnification quiet a bit, especially in the morning to late afternoon hours. Go with the 8x32, it's better to have more magnification than not have it and than need it.
