8OZ Mercury Recoil Reducer

I need to add this to make weight and also
to help w/recoil. Will this lite weight reducer
be worth the expense. Am I thinking correctly
that the heavier these devices are, the more
effective they are??? Anyone w/actual experience
w/the 8OZ model ?? LDS

I have one of these "reducers" in the stock of a multi gauge competition shotgun set. My use was to better balance the gun when changing barrels. No proof, but my guess it is mostly about the weight vs. the "filler".

I've installed lots of mercury reducers for clients. The weight helps reduce recoil a lot more than the liquid Mercury. If I had to guess I'd say 80% weight to 20% from the liquid sloshing around.
