87gr. Vmax in a 10tw 6BR

I took the 10tw 6BR shooting 87 Vmax for the first time. The first shot was at 500 yds. I could only see his head, he was on the back side of his hole. I was that was all I was going to get. I held one groundhog left into the wind, and fired. The groundhog made a complete flip and was DRT. I shot 2 more at closer range both same results. Looks like this will be a good combo. I am running Varget running 3275 f/s, It's a warm load.

Mark,
good to hear from you.. The 87 gr VMax in my 12 twist
6 Dasher has been my go to PD load for about 6 or 7 years=
I use N-135 and get 3,400 fps and this a very very hot load=
One has to see the results to believe them=
Glad you had a good Ground Hog Safari=
now you need to do a PD Safari=

Hey Mark! Nice shot. But that is what you would expect from a
former world record holder. Mark held the smallest group record
at 600 yds for a few weeks back in '07. I believe he set the record
shooting at Piedmont. I have shot with Mark many times at
Oak Ridge. His five shot group was somewhere around the 1.xxx in.
mark.

I love the 87 v-max out of a ten or twelve twist barrel. Ole Voldoc
takes the 87 past 1,000 on Prarie Dogs with his 12 twist.
The 87 can pull a ground hog out of his den and lay what's left of
the carcass above ground. Thanks for the story. Keep posting those.

Hey Doc and Bridog,

Good hearing from you. I have shot the 87 gr in a 6AI, and they do very well. I shot the 70 Blitzkings in my 12 tw, they do great. The 87 gr Vmax and 87 gr VLD Berger are doing great in this 10 tw. I would like to get out again for a PD shoot, it's been 10 years. BD, thanks for the record stuff. It was at Piedmont, shooting a 6BRX, 105 gr hunting bullets, light gun record was 0.749"

At that time fewer than 5 people had shot a less than 1 in. group
in a IBS 600 yd match. I was the 5 th to do it at the Ft. Pierre
National Championship in Sept. '07. Mine barely got under at 0.945 in
I believe Richard Schatz shot a 0.7xx the first day at Ft. Pierre.
His was the small group the first day and mine was small group 2nd day.

When are you coming over here and going long with me. I would
love to have you anytime.
