87 V-Max Speed?

How fast can you push an 87 V-Max thru a 1-8 twist 26" long stainless steel match barrel?
I don't believe in velocity for velocity's sake. I always look for the most accurate load first but I would like to have an idea of top end velocity without concerns for stability and bullet break up problems.

I shoot the 87 Grain V-Max in my 243 Ackley 1-8 twist 28" right at 3400 with good accuracy and no problems. Stability should be no problem at all with a 1-8 twist. The only faster 6mm chambering that I'm aware of is a 6/284 and it wouldn't be more than 100 fps, maybe). As to actually answer your question though as to what is the top end,,maybe) hornady would know, but I can't imagine you would have a problem with it considering that some of the other lighter 6mm & 22 V-Max bullets are cookin above 4000.

I called Hornady and the Tech Rep simply did not know? I have found that people who are pushing lighter weight 6mm bullets into the upper 3000s are using slower twist barrels.
Thanks for your info.
