I have taken deer and wild hogs in south Texas. None of them took a step. Shooting my 6.5X47 Lapua 28in. tube..This bullet is very accurate in my old 94 Swede. Anybody kill any deer with this bullet at 2500 fps or so, and how did it work or not work. I know it's a varmint bullet, but just curious. Barlow
How fast are you running them? Thanks, BarlowI have taken deer and wild hogs in south Texas. None of them took a step. Shooting my 6.5X47 Lapua 28in. tube..
I just tested the 120 NBT's with4831, and wasn't satisfied. I will heed your advise and try 4350 next. This old Swede really likes the 160 gr Hornady rn's and 85gr Sierra's. I'm going to do some bullet testing with the 85's in a few days. Thanks, BarlowI don't think I would shoot a deer with one unless it was a perfect broad side shot and could be sure that I would not hit a rib which you can't. I have shot groundhogs with the 100 gr Sierra HP, which is the same construction, out of my Swede 6.5x55 and it literally explodes on impact and red mist and scatters pieces. Give the 120 Nosler Ballistic Tip or Sierra pro hunter with one of the 4350s a try. What works for me is 46 Grs. Accurate 4350. Out of my sported 96 Swede 29" barrel it does right at 3000 fps and according to the Accurate manual this is under 46000 CUP. 45 Grs Accurate 4350 with 140 gr Hornady interlock or Sierra Game King does a little over 2800 fps and also is a good deer killer. This is also according to Accurate under 46000 CUP. I have killed a lot of deer with both loads and all the bullets. I like the 120 BT best for the east NC 90 to 180 lb. size deer.
Sorry Sir I have not coned. this load.. Tommy Mc.My machine went south in Feb 2017..I just tested the 120 NBT's with4831, and wasn't satisfied. I will heed your advise and try 4350 next.
