80 Gr ELD Seating Depth?

I've tried .010-.030 off the lands using various charge weights and I haven't be able to come up with a load that works well yet. Do these like to be jammed or maybe have a long jump?

Most if not all Amax and ELD match bullets like jump. I've had amax bullets jump .150 with extreme accuracy. If you have enough throat, try .050 +. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Agreed. I’ve jumped Amax’s .100 with good results. Buddy of mine has jumped them farther than that.

Tried jamming .005 and jumping .045. The jam turned my rifle into a shotgun, and .045 tightened it way up. 8 of 10 had a 1" vertical at 300 from the sling. I pushed a couple high just outside the x ring.

Interesting you didn't have to jump them much.

Nothing saying the ELDs all shoot best when jumped a bit but certainly try jumping them a ways when nothing else is working. They definitely will jump and shoot very well most times.

My gun likes the 75's at 0.010 off, but I'll admit I didn't try jumping them very far.

Of course there is the possibility that your rifle may not like the bullet. I wouldn’t spend excessive time and barrel life trying either.

Shot them in a match at 600 today, they didn't group very well. Off call shots and weird elevation. Nothing crazy bad but I was struggling to keep them in the 10 ring. Went back to the Sierra 80 and it hammered on the last 20 shots. I'l give them a few more tries and if I don' find the magic formula I'll save them for another barrel.

I wouldn't characterize my testing as extensive but I've tried them in my bolt gun at 7, 20, 40, 50 and 70 thou off. 50 was considerably better than the other depths.
