80-88 gr. bullets at 600 yds.???

Has anyone tried 80 to 88 grain bullets in a Dasher or 6 BR-AI at 600 yards? If so, how did they do? I was just wondering if the extra velocity could help overcome the BC advantage of the 105's? Thanks, James Mock

I'll find out how accurate they'll be in a 12 twist chambered up in my BR AI design with a .075 FB and .270 neck dia. Just got the reamer in today now I'm waiting on a barrel

After 350 to 400 yds the 105 bullet will be going faster than the 80 gr.
Past 400 yards the heavy bullet has the velocity advantage and BC to go with it.

I have a really accurate 87 gr Berger VLD load and when I shoot it at 600 yards the wind, no matter how little there is, ends up blowing it around compared to my 103-105 grain loads. This load out shoots all my others to around 300 yards and then it falls apart due to wind.

James, I tried them out to 400 and even tried them pointed as stated above, they don't work well in the wind compared to the 103. I figured I I had less than average barrel in the wind. up close 1and 200 they are great, shot some of the smallest groups I ever did. I need to try some other things maybe........ Jim
