8 X 32 nightforce with the #2 bars type reticle

OK I'm a moron..I have this great scope & all I know is the bars ranging type reticle space out 2 moa vertical & 5 moa horizontal at 100 yds at only one power setting [i haven't figured that out yet]..I almost never shoot at 100 yds * I'm ashamed to admit I can't read that vernier scale on the elevation knob...Can anyone here give me a lesson I want to be able to look at that vernier & know what it is set for "the range" I just set for 200 & count up clicks from there,to shoot longer distances...that is not a good system because it is easy to forget where you left it on the last shot.I should most likely set the scale to zero at 200..but past that I'm lost....help me ....mike in ct

Mike,
The only thing that I can tell you is that you need to sell me that scope for $200.00...
I now have more money in Nightforce scopes than I do in my 401K, smart move do you think???

Mick i don`t own a night-force but if its that much trouble i will give you $250 for it and pay the postage to Australia OK.
Anyway being serious what i do with my scopes is sight in at 100yards depending on what you are going to be shooting if its varmint and they are normally out around the 200 and further sight in at 200 and then Zero the adjustment knob from there to 500 should only be a matter of winding on by the numbers on the turret not counting clicks.I have my scope on the 30BR Zeroed at 100 at the moment as i am shooting short range so when i go to 200 i wind it up till it says 1" and two clicks after that is another stroke which is 1/4 i would loose count if i was trying to count clicks, for 400 without consulting my notes i think its 5 1/2" up from 100 so wind it till it says 5 and two strokes after that. For 550 Yards 500M it is 11and 1/2inches.
Hope this helps and is what you were asking about.
Bob
