8 twist 6BR w/ 70gr Sierra BK's?

New to 6BR and recently built my first sporter with a 22" Kreiger 8 twist. Rifle is a tack-driver w/95 VLD's & since I have some Sierra BK's here, thought I'd try them unless you folks suggest otherwise since I'm running a fast twist w/70 grainers.

Think it'll work? Run'em slower or faster w/Varget? Opinions appreciated before dumping powder & bullets.

And why do I have to keep putting a verification code when responding on accurate shooter?

Oh oh. Cant be letting those 70's sit on the shelf.

Load um up. That fast twist will shoot them just fine. I could be wrong here but Im thinking with the shorter barrel and smaller 6br case capacity you should not be blowing them up any time soon from excessive speed. Maybe someone will chime in on that.

Dern 6BR seems to shoot all weights of bullets very well. I have shot 80's through 105's in a 8 twist with really good results. Lots of fun.

They will shoot just fine in an 8 twist. I shoot 68gr FB Bergers in an 8 and also 70gr SMK's. I don't think you will be able to push them fast enough to make them come apart

I LOVE the 70 BK in my 8 twist Hart 6BR. I use a standard primer and 32 grains of XBR8208. It basically holds same drops as my 22-250, only it tends to flatten woodchucks with more authority.

Load up and have fun

Just screwed an 8 twist Rem varmint countour Bartlein to one of my actions last weekend.

I used some old p dog ammo loaded with 70 grain Blitz Kings and Benchmark to run the barrel in. Stuff was shooting in the threes at 100, all of that being vertical. I don't think it would take much tweaking to bring things in a bit tighter. This is shooting off of a bipod prone with a rear bag.

Don't recall the powder charge off hand, but I remember it clocked nearly 3300 fps in the 24 inch tube it was originally loaded for.

Shot the 70BK out of an 8tw 6XC well over 3700, no problems except for the PD's they hit turning inside out.

70 Speer TNT's had to keep below 3400 or grey mist in the scope 50% of the time.
