7X57 small ring mauser question

I am surprized! No one has pointed out that there two kinds of "small ring Mausers", model '98s and pre-'98s (meaning 1893/1895s). There's quit a difference in design,,,,,, and strength.

No Butch, we don't hunt together and don't know each other. There's others out here that build rifles , stock work and all, too. Point being, mine might look like they should be 'safe queens', too, but they get used in the field. How often I've heard, "it's too pretty to hunt with, it's just a Mauser, and, it's only a .30-06 / 7mm-08 /6.5mm-06 / 6mm Rem / .35 Whelen. And there are others I know with very nice rifles that hunt with them , too
