i am looking for some reloading data on the 7stw. i am going to be shooting the 168 grain berger vld through a 26" barrel. can you guys help

The latest Hogdon Manual has plenty of data for 160 and 175 grain bullets but nothing with the VLD's. The manual also has an article called "The Slow Burners" by the creator, Layne Simpson, which has some additional info. I have one myself but have not started reloading for it yet.Keep me posted on your findings.

Go here, a great cartridge, I used H1000 in mine shooting 180 grain VLD's.

As for the link above, start out using the verified loads. In reviewing the unverified load info, they are using loads WAY, WAY hotter than the maximums listed in the manuals. Just my observation.

Agreed, I should have mentioned that, I have posted loads on that site and they have to be verified by the people that run the site, sometimes takes months, or they will stay unverified if waay too hot and dangerous.

email berger they will get you data to start with. Retumbo is a good choice 78gr is about max should get you 3000-3100fps
