7prc powder

Looking for powder suggestions for a 7prc. Looking to use 175gr elite hunter bullets, Peterson brass, 26" 8.7 twist Bartlein barrel. I have n570 and h1000 on hand. N570 will be hard to get enough powder into the case, and N565 seems to do better than H1000 in this caliber based on internet searches.

Anyone done powder testing on 7prc?

I have used H1000 with 175 grain Bergers with great success in several rifles. The latest one is shooting under 0.2 moa and 2975 fps in a 26 inch barrel. H1000 is working well enough that I haven't tried any others.

ILast summer I did load development on a 22" 7 PRC. 175 EH and cc250.

R26
H1000
N560
N568
N570

N570 was the clear winner in my chamber. Shot in the .2's and was basically the same velocity as R26. I settled on 72.7 gr @ 2900.

What primer / seating depth? Sounds like this is a great combo!

Looks great, what seating depth did you settle on?

Mine likes 4831sc and n565. I tested staball, hd, n560, n568, n570, Grand, lrt, magnum, retumbo, h1000. Grand is an over achiever. Both 4831sc and 565 had single sd and shot under 3/4 in the low 2900s. Out of a savage trailhunter. All 5 shot groups 30 plus rounds a week.

I had very tight groups with H1000 and Retumbo with a Fed 215M. The 7PRC doesn't seem to be too picky about powder. Switching to a Fed210M gave lower SDs with similar accuracy.

I've had great luck with H4831SC, 251M primers, and the 175"s in three rifles. All rifles loaded at mag length for safe chambering/extraction for hunting. All less than .5MOA 3 shot groups. Accurate enough that I didn't try any other powders.
