7mm wsm

I have a question about speed using a 7mm wsm. Berger 175 vld
At 100 yards I can shoot a 5 shoot group that is a dot at 2875fps. But get vertical after 2925
Using mag pro I can go to 3200 fps with no pressure problems . But can't find that next node.
I have tried all the powders none will go we're mag pro will get to.
But 3 powders shoot good at 2800-2900.
Does anyone shoot .200 groups at 100 over 2950.
It shoots. .500 to .750 after 3000 fps.

What barrel and action are you using? I had this same problem when I built a 7WSM on a Remington 700 action. The problem went away when I switched to a BAT M. I think that big case head causes a slight movement in the barrel tenon as the pressure climbs. I shot a 284 Shehane on the same action with a heavy barrel and it hammered at 2900 fps. Just an opinion, but I think the size of the case and pressure have to be part of the problem with the WSM with the smaller receivers like the 700.

Bartlein barrel

Something else then. The F-Class Panda is plenty strong for a 7WSM. I was never able to get the same ES from a 7WSM that I was able to get with a RSAUM. You might give N165 at try with BR-2 primers or Fed 215Ms if the BR-2s don't work. I got my best results with the 7/300WSM using N165. Very tight vertical to 1000 yards with the 180 Hybrids at about 2950 with a 32 inch Bartlein.. It would be interesting to see what your vertical dispersion would be at 300 yards.

Seems to me that some of the 7wsm's I played with didn't like to be pushed as long as I stayed 2850-2950 they really wanted to shoot, but when pushed problems came up. Mine ended up performing the best with a 162Amax. I ended up ditching the WSM in the 7mm as it was too touchy and stuck too .284's and 7SAUM.

lou,
What powder are you using at 2875fps with the 175's? I am just curious as I am getting ready to start a hunting rifle project with the WSM. I plan to start shooting 168's but will try the 175's if I can't find one that shoots. Are you shooting magazine length rounds or is you reamer throated long for single shot? Thanks.
