7mm STW Reloading Information

Just starting out to reload for the 7mm STW, was wondering if I might could get some good starting points and maybe what kind of velocities ya'll are getting. I already have some RL-22 and RL-25 powder. Any information will be appreciated. I will mostly be shooting 162 A-max's.

I have one and it likes IMR 7828 more than reloader or retumbo. I shoot a 160 grain BTSP seirra. I forget the load I will look later and let you know.

How long is your barrel? Im shooting the 180 hybrid and the 175 xld out the 7stw 28" Krieger 5r. 78g of H-1000 is starting to produce a decent group at 200 yards.... but i have a lot more work to do. Its a new barrel and action.

Barrel is 26".

With the old factory 26 inch barrel of my 7stw, i shot the 150g CT bullet w/80g of VV165. @3350 fps

I have used Reloader 22 with most of my 7mmSTW loads, but they are mostly 140 grain ballistic tips. They shoot pretty good though, usually 3 shots at 1/2" or under @ average 3410 fps. Have also used RL22 with 150 gr Sierras, but IMR 7828 did as well or better with those. I use Fed Mag primers with my STW loads. My gun is a Sendero with 26" tube. I have taken several whitetail with the 140 Ball. Tips.

I have a rem 700 la, trued,timney trigger 1.5lb,26"krieger cm .640 @muzzle,pillered lam stock (factory) sims pad,sightron s11bs 6-20x50..fed 215 mag primers,win cases,80.0 RL-25 with 160 sierra game kings .3,s for 2 shots (100yds) 3/4 inch at 300 yds,both loads)...Imr7828 82.0 gr 140 sierra game kings .3,s also for 2 shots..these are hot loads so reduce & work up..coues52 ~Danny B

Use your RL25 for 140gr and up. If you need to shoot lighter bullets than use the RL22. When you use up all the RL stock, start buying Retumbo and never look back.
