7mm SAUM in S/A best expected velocities

Hello all

My seating depth with the hybrid is -20 thou, I found no difference with this bullet up to touching the lands.

I like this cartridge and bullet combo ;D
Hi Laurie, I will be there, Saum in tow first baptism in a formal comp. I look forward to the even smaller targets NOT! are you shooting your mouse gun? See you there. Regards to all participants in this thread, hope we have all saved time and barrel life because of it!

Hi Gary,

yes mouse gun as usual - just working up some new loads with VarGet ready for the season (worried we may get the odd hot match day this year after four miserable excuses for summers in a row). Fingers crossed as usual re Diggle weather - Saturday saw 10-11 o'clock wind that varied across 11 to 28.5 mph within say 90 seconds on the 900yd firing pt before we started according to my wind meter. Scores were low, although John Campbell shot 96 something pm with his seven!

i think h1000 seems to be giving great ES and SD figures with most that try it but maby a barrel tuner will give the ultimate accuracy ;D

In the interview he stated that he is using 57.5gr of H4350 for his load. My gun (when I get it) will have a .220FB and should work well with the 180s and this load of H4350. Should have no problem with a COAL of over 3.0.

Danny told me yesterday that he has since dropped his load to 56.0 grs, but I feel it is because of the temps that we are seeing that has brought that about.

My H4350 loads are way too hot to talk about here but I would caution anyone trying H4350 that the lot to lot variations can be very big. Bigger than what I have seen with Varget and H4831SC during the same time period. I have had 3 lots of the stuff lately and the maximum loads varied by a grain and a half for the same velocity. Both were very hard on the brass but shot well. That has been true with H4350 in both my RSAUM and 284 Shehane.

I've found the same in my RSAUM, I use 4350 in a mid-load to "test" bullets to see if my rifle has potential.

Currently, I love the 58gr range of Win Supreme 780 and a 180gr VLD. Watch your pressures though! I've had to open the throat a little.
