7mm Rem Mag

Well, RL22 has gone missing in action - except on gunbroker but it is dead to me at those prices. But, still trying to find a way to begin reloading my 7mm Mag. Got the dies, the brass, primers... but no powder. RL22 i have experience with since 7mm Rem Mag was my first love and reloading adventure. I really like RL22. Nowhere to be found - even with powder for powder trade I have posted elsewhere closer to home.

Not giving up yet - If you load 7mm Rem Mag - what top 3 powders would you use (in order please). Maybe I can find a replacement powder using that method.

7828 was developed specifically for 7mm Rem mag.

I might give H4831 some consideration for the 120’s. I would still use H1000 for the 140’s.

I've had good luck with H1000 and RL26 with 180 Bergers

Imr7828

This and IMR4350. Both accurate and easy on barrel as not overly fast. I've shot 1/4 moa with IMR7828, 1/2 or better moa with IMR4350. In a 1970s era Rem 700.

Use H1000 and if no H1000 then use IMR 7828 for loads with 180 bergers.

IMR-7828, I also like it a lot in .270 and .257 Roberts.

With 120's I'd try IMR4350, and for 140, 150. The H4831 will shine!

RL26, RL23, RL22, RL19.
Shoot anything from 100gr varmint through 168gr Berger VLD.

RL26, RL23 gives surprising accuracy with 150gr ABLR at 600 yards.

I shoot IMR4831 in mine with 150 Barnes TTSX.

I reload for 10 different 7 mags. All i use is H-1000 and 180gr bergers and all guns are tack drivers. My second choice is H-4831sc in custom guns.

Vitavuori 160. I switched from Reloader 22 to this with near no change in velocity or accuracy. For me I use 154 gr. bullets.

N560 and Superformance work well too. N560 is very similar to RL22

Might want to try Norma MRP.
I've heard it's the same powder as RL22.
Kinda like Win760, H414.

For the lighter weight bullets (100-130gr) i usually prefer IMR4831 or RL19.
With 140-150gr i step up to RL22, RL23.
150+ then RL26.

Rile is Savage 111 with 24" barrel. If that matters.

My go to powder with 160 and 168 gr bullets was IMR 7828.

No joke on the 4064. Very pleasant with 139 gr. Magnum primer.

I use RL22 with 140's, RL25 with 160s and 175s. Would also consider H4831 as a good powder.
