7mm rem mag/ hornady 162gr eld-x/ re22

Good morning/evening everyone :)

I am hoping that someone could help me with load data for 7mm rem mag, hornady 162gr ELD-X and reloader 22.

I have always used sierra bullets with either western powders or Hodgdon powders.

None of my manuals list any information for this combination. (Hornady manual is now on my list).

So if anyone could help I would be very thankful.

Things needed would be min/max powder charge and C.O.A.L.

Thank You for your time and help.

Sincerely,

44 Duster, various lots of 22 will vary in burning rate, so be aware of this. If you find that your rifle likes 22, it would be advisable to buy a 5 lb keg of it.

Over the years, 160-162g bullets that I shot liked a cci 250 or 215 primer with 64-65g* in Rem brass. SnoPro is shooting 66g, but that is a HOT load with my lot # of powder. R22 will not like a medium load, it likes very close to top end.

Winchester is tougher brass Than Remington, and RWS may outlive you.

I seat the 162 SST and 162g BtSP from .020 off the lands, to touching the lands.

IF you do not get satisfactory results with 22, then try from 69-71g* of Retumbo with a fed 215.

7Mag is a very, very accurate cartridge with these bullet weights, and amazing accuracy is achieved with a rifle that is bedded, bbl freefloated, tuned trigger. Remington 700's in a laminate stock, will simply SHOCK most people when it comes to accuracy.

Thank You snowpro440 and AckleymanII :)

I feel like an idiot lol. I didn't look at alliants website (shaking my head in shame). I do have alliants 2017 reloading manual but this combination isn't in there and so I figured it wouldn't be on their website lol.

AckleymanII thank you for the advise and it will be put to good use :).

Up until now my loads have been with Sierra's 140gr SBT/ Hodgdon Hybrid 100v and this combo has been nothing but Outstanding! my average 100yrd groups are 1/4" 4-shot groups and 200yrd groups just under a 1/2" 4-shot groups.

Out of all the rifles and calibers that I own/have owned or have shot the 7mm rem mag is my favorite.

Thank you for your time, help and experience. Happy shooting!

Sincerely,

440Duster
