7mm improved choices

For everyone out there shooting improved chamberings could you offer a little help in choosing my next project. I would like to shoot long (600-1000yds). I have a BAT action on a Shehane MBR stock with a NF NXS 12-42 scope
I was leaning to a improved round with standard bolt-face simply because I don't want to buy a new bolt body. The choices seem to be the 284 Shehane and the 280 AI. Any preferences, dislikes or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks alot.

I've been thinking about the Shehane but the cost of dies has me concerned. I'll probably just go straight 284, with R17 it's able to get the 180s up to 3000 supposedly and it does very well with the 162 AMAX, which I'd be mostly shooting anyway. Don't need all that capacity for the lighter bullet.
