7mm Berger 195's

Has anyone had any experience trying the Berger 7MM 195'S in 7 RSAUM F-Open? Just wonder what the experience has been like. I've been using the Sierra 183's most recently, and found them to shoot a little tighter and 1/2 minute higher than the Berger 180 Hybrid's I had been using. What kind of velocity has anyone been getting with the 195's? Thanks.

M99,

What twist are you running with the Sierra 183's ? I have been running the 180 Berger Hybrids for years now but Sierra looks very interesting. Thinking about using them at Texas 1000yd States this year. I have a 284 Shehane with a 9" twist 32" bbl. Are they worth developing a load for ?

Doug,

From what I've read from others' experience you really want a 1:8.5 to shoot the 183s.

I have nothing but 9 twist barrels and my reamer has a fairly short freebore (0.188") so I'm sticking with the 180gn Hybrids.

I used them in my 284 Shehane with some good success. I was getting 2750 fps with 51.3 gr of H4350 in a 9 twist gain to 8.25 twist.

I have (3) boxes of 195s unopened if you want them at a cheaper cost. $125 shipped for all three boxes.

I tested the beta ,gamma, alpha batch or what ever they call it speaking of the 195's .At 1K 14 out of 15 went into a 6" circle. So I ordered 500 and found a difference of .0005 in diameter resulting in not shooting worth a flip!

I'm running an 8.5 twist in a 32 inch Barrel. With the 183's, using H4831SC, I found I had to reduce the load by .4 G with the 183's because of pressure. But they shot a bit higher at 1K which validated the higher BC they claim, even though they were 80 FPS slower over the Chrono than the 180's. They also shot just a bit tighter, but not enough to be certain. So I've been going back and forth with the 180's and 183's. I wanted to try the 195's using Retumbo because I have heard you can get close to 3000FPS with them with low pressures. But if they don't shoot, it doesn't matter how fast they go. One other point, (Pun Intended) is that I found in my rifle, the 180's NOT pointed, shot better than the Pointed ones. Not sure why, but a was able to repeat.
