An issue you probably have been fighting(besides flinching), Remington synthetic adl stocks had the 2 pressure points nubs near the end of the stock. It seems a flip of a coin which barrel liked pressure or free floated. In general removing the pressure points and true free floating the barrel would reduce vertical stringing. I would expect the gunsmith would alter the stock when he installs your new barrel. 1/2 inch groups should be obtainable, using the correct rear bag and good shooting form.
