7mm-08 Loads with Hornady Brass and WLRP

Prose

My neighbor is interested in learning to reload. He has a 7mm-08 that he intends to have his daughter use this year (I have already provided all the appropriate warnings).

7mm-08 about 2.8 COAL with 139 or 154 SST's.
Hornady Cases
Winchester Large Rifle Primers
H-4350 and H4895 on hand

I wish to demonstrate for him the process of appropriate load techniques, how to determine starting loads according to the books, and how to shoot a ladder or otherwise "find accuracy."

I also wish to look good doing it, so if anyone has any good loads/nodes around 2800 FPS with H4350 and 2600 FPS or lower with H4895 that would be great :D. His rifle is shooting factory around 3/4 MOA so I really don't want to look bad with a 3" group...

bBe sure and work your way up from a published (in the manual) load. One of the members here was kind enough to give me his best load using H4350 and 168 Bergers for the 7mm08. I backed off 3 full grains and worked up to his favorite. It does show promise, but only the workup proves the pressure were safe.

You may want to point out that developing really good loads, tweaked to a specific rifle takes time and patience and sometimes several 3" groups. :)

I have had good results with both H4350 and H4895 as well as with the IMR 4350 and 4895. Most of my loads were under 168 Grain HPBT Sierra Match Kings and I never loaded anything for hunting. Sorry :(

I would just try the usual of low to high with some of each powder you have using reputable published load data.

I'd strongly suggest you recommend a drop in bullet weight for the fairer sex.
120gr SP Hornadys and a reasonable load of Varget will be much kinder to shoot and easily take deer to 200+ yards.
