75 or 80 eldm

With the 80s it was all H4350.

IMR 4350 gave slightly higher velocities with the 75s but being as its bulkier than the “H” it was hard to get enough in there so I didn’t try it with the 80s. I imagine it would work well.

R17 worked well with both the 75s and 80s as well.

I also ran 8208 with the 75s with success. Less velocity than the slower powders though.
Thanks I appreciate the info

My first goal is the best accuracy. Second comes the BC numbers. Obviously we'd all love the highest bc bullet to be "That Bullet" but unfortunately they aren't always the best bullet in everyone's rifle. I've been pretty lucky to find that 90% of the bullets I've loaded have been the higher BC bullets and they shoot as good as any. Those numbers don't mean alot until ranges exceed 600+ yards. Mostly even beyond that depending on bullet weight and cartridge.
When I couldn’t perceive an accuracy improvement with the 75s in testing, I settled on the 80s. Cleaned 600 with 80s and shot a lot of 196+ with my DD AR15. (Bipod on a sling face).

Technically the 75s have a better form factor and shoukd be capable of being pushed fast enough to offset the bc penalty. I never did enough testing to see exactly how capable the 75 truly were.

I shot both from my 30" 22-250AI rifle. The Amax version of both. For my findings, the 80s got the edge. I pushed them 3570 vs 3610 with the 75s. Accuracy was about identical with that speed for each. The 80s edged out the 75s but I wouldn't say enough to make a difference. No ground hog hit with either really cared about the difference. It made them unidentifiable either way.
