75 gr a-max

Will a 9 twist in a.223 stabilize this bullet? How about a 9 twist in a 22-250? Thanks.

Have not tried those bullets in my 9 twist 22-250 yet! Everything I have read on here suggests that they will work in a 9 twist though. Go to the "search" portion and type in 75 grain Amax and do a search.

i have a savage 12 vlp 9 twist, it shoots the 69 smk great but have not had much luck with the 75 Amax. wish i had ordered the 7 twist , think would been better..

I just did the search on those and the results were about 6 miles one way and half a dozen the other ! That would be a great long range bullet though!

Try a few and see what kind of accuracy you can get with them.It wont hurt anything.Alot of the twist calculators are not right in the shooting world.Dont trash them without shooting a few groups to see if you 9 twist is really an 8.5 twist.When they rifle barrels there is a degree of error from many makers.

Buddy has a 9 twist shilen in 22-250 on 700 action and it shoots the 75 amax with impressive results. Jason

Thanks Guys, it seems like they're worth trying. I'll order a box & try them in my .223 first, & in my 22-250 when my new Brux barrel comes in. It may not be too late to change my twist rate; would an 8 twist be too fast for 55 grainers in the 22-250?

My 223s a 1 in 9 twist and I've shot the 75gr Amax out to 900 yards no problem I loaded them up with varget and haven't had a problem yet I'm on my second batch of 600

If the 75 A-Max won't work try the 75 bthp. It is shorter and may work. It is also a very good bullet.
