70gn Berger VLDs at Mag length

Hi everyone
Planning on loading some 70gn Berger’s in my .223 (1:8 twist, 24”) to mag length for an upcoming PSR match. They will be seated with a reasonable bit of jump on top of 24gn of Varget/AR2208 being shot over ranges from 500yds down to 200?

I have a rough idea of velocity (2900-2950) to expect but keen to hear if there is any experience out here of how these projectiles will perform from a large jump

Thanks in advance.

I’m jumping 80g VLDs 0.020” in a 22-250.

They didn’t shoot better closer to the lands.

You’ll soon find out what the 70g Bergers do in your gun then you can tell us.

What's the rifle? (ie: what IS mag length?)

Shoot them 5 in, 5 off, 15 off, and 30 off.

Go easy on that 24 grain charge until you see whether that's acceptable with the soft 0.005" jam.

I’ll be testing them next week so will let you all know how they run. Will test them at 100M and 300M.

Thanks for the advice everyone

I shoot 24.1 Varget with a 77 or 80 gr with no problems. Use 24.5 with Moly coated bullets.
