700 VLS 6mm Rem: What can be made?

I have a Remington 700 VLS Thumbhole in 6mm Remington. Can the barrel be affordably rechambered to something more in line with BR shooting, or do I need to get a different barrel? 6mm BR, 6mm x 47, 6mm PPC, etc? It's a low shot count, great shooter, but my needs do not require such large amounts of powder. Emphasis on affordable...

Before the weather got too cold, my best results came with 87gr V-max and 42gr H4350. I also got good results with 58gr V-max and 42gr Varget and 75gr V-max and 43.5gr H4350.

Sorry but none of the calibers you mention will be long enough to re chamber the longer 6mm you have now unless it's a no taper, and Remington don't do that on the VLS...
Have you thought about reduced loads to conserve on powder ?
The next step it to re barrel it to the caliber of your choice with a new barrel.
Some makers like ER Shaw have pretty cheap barrels if you like that idea....

You can set the barrel back and re-chamber it, but I don't think that is wise, because the factory barrels are not that good to start with, and you are likely to be disappointed.

To set back and re-chamber is around a buck and a half... ~ four will get you a new good quality barrel, fitted and chambered... *unless inflation has ate that up" )

Thanks for all the responses guys! Yes, I could load them reduced, but I believe cartridges are at their best loaded near capacity. You all have pretty much reinforced my suspicion that it is probably best to just re-barrel it, or sell it and buy something else. The barrel has about 240 rounds through it and shoots under a dime at a hundred yards with hand loads. This was more a whim than an absolute need, so I'll sleep on it for a while.
