700 Extractor question

I have a 700 SA that's chambered for a 20 VT. Had a pressure problem, range master tried to help and broke the extractor removing the brass from the bolt. I'm thinking that since the extractor's broke I'd be best to replace with a sako extractor, have it on a couple of other rifles and seems to work the best. Is that the best way to solve my problem and can anyone recommend a smith that can do the work. What does it cost to change a bolt face and install a Sako extractor. Thanks for the help. Rick

I like the mini M16 extractors better then the Sako. And feel there a safer option as well.
Polishing the Remington extractors is a good fix to brass swiping and letting the case slide in and out smoother.

I can't say if a Sako extractor will solve your problems or not, but I would recommend Gre'-Tan Rifles as far as getting quality work. I'd suggest calling Greg & discussing it with him. He has his prices & info listed here...

Thanks for the help, I've talked with Greg in the past about a new build but didn't think of him to do a repair, I'll get in touch with Greg. Thanks much, sure love this site. Rick

Depending on the use of the rifle-

Hunting rifle-spend $15.00 & 5 minutes to install the OEM Rem extractor.

Competition rifle-have a pinned M16 extractor installed.
