70 smk and varget loads

Finally get to shoot my 6br this weekend! All I could find on short notice was some 70 SMK bullets. It us a 12 twist factory savage barrel. Planning on using Varget but also have rl15, and n150.

This is a fun gun for my girlfriend who loves to shoot but the recoil from my FTR gun and 215's are a little much. She loves to shoot prone, so this will be setup with a prone style stock and Duplin bipod.

Anyone shoot the 70's ?

My 6BR is a 14 twist, primarily short range Benchrest. When I want to do some casual shooting at 600 yards I load up 70 SMK's with 33 grains of Varget. This combination works very well in my gun.

Loaded 20 rds with Sierras max book load of Varget and their recommended overal load. Shot 3 shots in same hole andhanded over to my girlfriend. She fought the scope adjustment but managed some nice 1/2 " groups and she has never shot prone but once before. Looking forward to thia caliber!
