Definitely WinchesterIf you had to pick between Hornady and Winchester, which would you choose?
They will be too short. You need to create a false shoulder on the neck by only necking down enough for a snug fit in the chamber, Then, a fireforming load should get you where you need to be.https://www.lapua.com/product/lapua-brass-300-wsm-cartridge-case-4ph7080c/ does this and a trip through a 7WSM die get it done or do they come out too short?
You have to leave a false shoulder so that they chamber with resistance.https://www.lapua.com/product/lapua-brass-300-wsm-cartridge-case-4ph7080c/ does this and a trip through a 7WSM die get it done or do they come out too short
Yes, my understanding is either 7-270 wsm or 7-300 wsm. They should end up the same, however you can end up with a thicker neck using 300 vs 270 brass. If you’re going through the work to order a custom reamer, I would go the 300 brass route because it’s now available from Lapua, and order the reamer accordingly for neck thickness. Then use a 300 wsm bushing die with smaller bushing for sizing. You have to leave a false shoulder so that they chamber with resistance.
I made my Brass from Norma 300wsm way before we had Lapua. The necks come out about. 02" short after firing. Not ideal because 7wsm necks are shortest of all wsm cases to begin with.
The ideal scenario is chamber a 7-300 wsm.
