7 SWC

It basically what I have been doing for years but using the .284
Winchester case as the parent because the .308 family of cases
are too anemic in it's boiler room at any chosen length.

With a little scrounging.....It looks like it is based of the 6.5x47.

I've been seeing a trend lately of smaller cases and much larger high
BC bullets. As a wild catter, I promote experimentation but ?? Another
thing I don't see mentioned on this new endeavor is the primer. These
cases look like they are using a small primer ??

I have to stir the pot here a bit.....Cortina Precision was mentioned as
making dies. Did this just tip off what 7mm Eric will be bringing to TD-6 ??

Genuinely curious what the ideal twist rate for 190s they used in the announcement page would be.

They don’t seem to have any updated load data on their regular page in the last 6months.

Cool idea probably but I’d love to see more data.

Neat that Alpha makes brass for it.

At short magnum speeds with the 190 I use a 1-8.
I want to try them and a 183SMK in a 1-9 barrel.

I shot the 183 SMK's down to 2600 in an 8.5 twist. 30" Brux.
190 A-tips gave me a few oval holes which surprised me. That
aluminum tip is supposed to mimic a shorter bullet. I had to
keep them at 2800 in that 8.5......183's always shot better.

Tipped bullets actually mimic heavier bullets. The tip moves the center of pressure (COP) farther out front. Since the tip (plastic or aluminum) is lighter than lead, the center of mass (COM) doesnt move forward as much. The greater the distance between the COP and the COM, the more twist is needed to stabilize a bullet.
