7 RSAUM which brass??

So let's talk about the new to F-Class 7 RSAUM. What brass are you using and why?

Obviously Remington is the only company making the brass but Norma and Nosler have 300 RSAUM that could be necked down. When looking at the SAAMI specs for these two it appears the 300 RSAUM has the same body dimensions but the length of the shoulder is different.

If you are using the 300 brass, are you experiencing headspace issues?

Are you having reamer issues?

And last, 4831 SC or H1000?

I don't know where you got your information but they both use the same headspace gauge. The OAL brass length is .020" shorter for the 300 than the 7mm which doesn't affect headspace. If your talking about the neck shoulder junction it has to be different or they would use different headspace gauges since the 7mm would then be shorter due to the smaller diameter neck.
I use 300 SAUM Nosler brass, I have tried Norma but the Nosler is superior in every way. I have a .318 no turn neck which is a little tight for the Norma brass but the 300 SAUM Norma brass that I have needs turned to be concentric anyway. The Nosler brass works out of the box. I wouldn't even consider Remington brass unless this is a hunting rifle.

I use H1000 and 162 A-max or 180 VLD Bergers in one rifle and H4831SC and 162 A-max in another.

I will have to try some Nosler brass. The Norma I have has consistent wall thickness and I got the runnout fixed by using a custom honed Forster full length die. I have enough necks to turn and was too lazy on this caliber. It likes Retumbo with the 180's. I still need to try some AMAX's too. I read earlier that Norma is planning a run of 7 brass soon, but I will still try the Nosler first after experience in other calibers and James' advice.

I was just looking at the SAAMI spec sheets. If the 300 necks down to fit the 7 RSAUM that works fine too. Thanks for your feed back.
