7 Rem mag to 300 Win mag conversion

Going to rebarrel a gun and was wondering if it's possible to do the above. I know the 300 Win is a little longer overall.

Gun in question is a push feed Model 70.

I was going to attempt the same project but to get the 300 mag. cartridge to fit the 7mm magazine I had to seat the bullet extremely deep in the case almost to the point the ogive begins.
A better alternative would be to chamber for a .308 Norma mag. The max case length is 2.559, just .059 longer than a 7 mag.,300. Win mag case is 2.620) This option would make it easier to fit your cartridge to the box magazine. The Norma gives up little or nothing to the 300 Win mag. A 180 gr. Nosler BT can be loaded to 3000 fps according to the load manuals.
