300 wsm Blind magazine question

If I rebarrel a 300 win mag or 7mm Rem mag to a 300 wsm will the magazine follower still work? I realize it would be long but I would want to seat heavy bullets out further than is possible in the regular short mag action length. Thank you for your help.
