7 Rem. Mag and too much smoke

I'm trying to work up a load with my 7mm mag and 180 grain Bergers and H1000. I've worked from 63 up to 69.5 grains before I saw too much pressure. All the loads had a lot of smoke coming out of the barrel. I'm also getting a lot of powder fouling. Is this powder too slow??
Thanks in advance for the help and advice.

Seems a bit odd to me? What primer are you using with that load?
nosler manual lists 65.5 gr as there max load with H-1000 & 175 gr bullet..... H-1000 and a 180 Berger sounds like a good combo in the 7mm Mag.

What barrel length and twist do you have? Shooting 180's in anything less than a ~28 inch barrel will be wasting H1000, Try some RL-22 or maybe even a lighter bullet. Need some more info.

H-1000 smoked a lot in my .280 also. Even when I got the pressure up on max loads?
7828ssc & v165 worked a lot better for me.

According to QuickLoad, H1000 doesn't burn 100% in a 26 inch barrel except at very high pressures. You might see the smoke go away with either N165, RL-22 or 7828SSC all of which are estimated to burn 100% in your barrel.

With your 26 inch 8 twist barrel, I would definately go with 162-168 class bullets, those 180 class bullets need a long tube. Try 4831SC, RL-22, and IMR-7828 class of burn rate with the 162-168 weight bullets.
