7million new shooters since March 2019. So if you extrapolate the numbers, say each one of those shooters bought 100 rounds of ammo. That's 700,000,000, seven hundred million primers needed to load all that ammo! That's what caused the primer shortage!!

Personally I think the 700,000,000 is about 2.1 BILLION short of what the new shooters generated.

Another number here from the internet, 8.1 Billion rounds of ammo sold each year! So you may be right!
I love my 'Kawntry'!

Many of these new gun owners are women .They lack the lack the male hormone that precludes them from asking for help. Hopefully many male new gun owners have a mentor or friend to teach them. That leaves a percentage that will cause nightmares at the range. Many of us have already encountered them. I do not offer advice unless asked or scared. Have commented that back in the day, when Wisconsin residents got concealed carry, the best place to stand was right in front of the target. Believe the best policy will be to welcome these new fellows and do our best to help them, if the will except it.

If that is the case ,7 million new first time gun owners since March of this year that means the NRA should have at least that many new numbers to help protect those rights to be able to buy that gun in the first place. My guess is a very small number actually joined the NRA,sad if true.

I don't think the current NRA has what it takes to promote firearms ownership and the shooting sports. 7 million this year and the five years before that were record breakers Anyone here remember what the rifleman was like in the 50s and 60s. A monthly magazine packed with local events, reloading, bullet casting, ect. If these new people find out how much fun reloading, shooting the local matches and associating with other shooters is you guys won't find primers until 2025.

I must apologize to the OP. The video has the president of Federal saying seven million shooters. So, I was wrong to post what I did.

New owners? Where does that stat come from? I bought several firearms in 2020. I’m not a new owner. I’m guessing a majority of the guns and ammo was bought by hoarders like me.

Just remember folks, it is OUR duty to teach these new shooters proper safety, range etiquette, marksmanship etc etc. The large majority want to know these things and will respond well to polite guidance.
As long time range officer I have a little knowledge there.
