7 mag action

Can I use the action from my 270 win. for a 7mm rem. mag. build, or do I need a magnum action?

7mm RM is a different size bolt face so your bolt would be at least one issue to deal with.

It can work, but it'll take two things. Time and Money....

The ejection port might need opening, the bolt face will need opened, the feed lips/ ramp will need attention, Sako or M16 extractor added.

Or.......get a bolt with a magnum BF. If it is a Remington 700, ejection ports will be the same and rarely do the feed rails need attention.

For a repeater you may need to get the 7 mag magazine as well as the bolt. there are several magazines for different cartridges with different feed lips. I know that the 300 Win mag magazine will feed the 7mm Rem mag case.

The feed rails will need to be opened,better to look for a mag bolt or call Dave Kiff at pacific tool
