7.62x25 rifle

Got some load development done yesterday pretty happy with the results. I ran with powder first in .5 gr. increments ,with the best one I went .4 down and .4 up in .1 gr. increments. Shot those over the crony and picked the best one.006.JPG

the target pretty much says it all. Not real fast but looks pretty good to me. I can live with that.
Hopefully I can finish the 110 gr. loads tomorrow. Winds were gusty today about 10 mph but I got a nice horizontal string about an inch long . Checked with my ballistic calculator on my phone and it said about .7 moa in that wind and that's about what I got. I'll get some stuff loaded up and hope for better conditions

Great stuff, thanks for sharing . A big thanks to Forum Boss also for putting it in the Bulletin. I really dig projects that are not the norm, this one really required some imagination and skill.

Les, I tried enough subsonic out too 200 meters I got highly frustrated to say the least. I hear good things about the Speer TNT’s from folks. I know the 22’s,6mm’s and 6.5’s have flown extremely well for a budget varmint bullet.

Crafty? Dunno maybe lol. I get my “habit” from my dad. He would spend hours with a hacksaw and file making something only to seldom use it.
Then I know of a fellow that spent a bit of time making a powder funnel. Then to top that, rebuilt his hand priming tool because he liked it. (I think he is just tight :-o)

Kevin, you get south we should see if we could all get together. Always a fun time to meet folks and shake hands after visiting on forums.

We definitely gotta do that Jeff! Look forward to it. Y'all shoot safe. Kev

Well I'm pretty satisfied with the 168 gr. load as shown in the test target but the hotter 110gr loads just haven't been very good their about a half inch at 50 yds and it seems no matter what I try that's about as good as it gets. i'll have to get some different bullets to try and maybe a different powder. at some point.
Just wanted to say thanks for the comments, hope you all enjoyed the pics.
