I'm looking to test out 4831sc in my 7-6.5 prc and need a good area to start my testing. I'm running Berger 180 hybrids and 184 f-open out of a 32" Brux 9 twist barrel using adg brass. looking for a good area that won't over pressure. thanks

I would also suggest that you ask “Willow” on this forum as he has had a lot experience with that powder as “Triple Nickel” (N555) is unobtainium in his local.

I started at 54gn and went to 57 with 4831sc and a 32: barrel. Velocity was up to 2930 when I stopped. Didn’t get better groups than the N555 so I went with that instead. Mine was Lapua brass so I don’t know the difference in capacity for the ADG.

Thanks for all the help. I went out yesterday and 55.5g-56.6g grouped pretty good avg speeds from lowest charge to highest charge were 2871-2890. 2871-2880 got me 1.5"-5" height at 1k yards, width on the other hand was 4"-6" wide. Wind was 14mph with up to 30mph gust out of the SW and I had no flags to read wind. I'm going to make some more in that range and retest on a calm day to see if it can get tighter.

Looks like the 4831sc is working fine for you.

If you get a chance try the N555, it’s amazing as well in the 7-6.5, I’m running 57.7grs out of a 26” barrel and getting 2900fps with the 175gr Bergers/210M and 6.5 PRC Lapua brass necked up.
