Ok is there any match guns in this caliber.

Basically a 7.5x55 Swiss is a standard "military caliber" of the 30x.284. The arse end is a little wider and you get slightly more case capacity with a .308x.284 wildcatter, but your basically looking at 30-06 type velocities.

I would assume that Reloader 22, VIN N560, and H4350 and H4831 SC would be the powders of choice.

I have some straight pull K-31 Swiss's and I really haven't loaded them up to full potential because of the straight pull and military chambers...also the lack of throating makes them prone to having the bullet drop into the neck.

To answer your question yes there are match guns in this caliber. The SCHISM 7.5x55 Match is an awesome iron sight prone rifle...but rare over here!

I saw one on gunbroker once and they wanted $2k for a used rifle with unkown round count.

Basically your shooting a 30-06 type cartridage in a slightly shorter and fatter cartridage.

In a mauser type modern firearm I am sure it would be a very nifty 1k, LR prone type rifle.

not sure, but your biggest problem with the 7.5 Swiss is brass. I am sure in an ultraccurate firearm you don't want an undersized arse like you have on a 7.5 swiss that has been formed from .284 brass.

For this reason you might opt if your going for a custom chambering to a 30x.284 casing. That way your bolt head can remain .308 face and if you ever change calibers its a snap and you won't have to get a new bolt head.

I sold my cousin a K-31 with clamp on side mount. It outshot his Savage 110 30-06. Dam off-center scope to bore was annoying, but it would shoot! I still have a K-31, but iron sights and my eyes don't agree.

Like I said its a shorter 30-06.

Whats the barrel life and velocity of the 30-284.

It depends what your shooting...perhaps as much as 2k or more or 1k. How hard you pushing it...how fast etc.

Keep pressure and heat down I could see 2500 for match accucracy.
