6XC shop talk

6XC shooter pretty well hit the nail, I have found great accuracy with Varget and H4350. Where I have found one over the other is temperature. the Varget for me preformed better in cooler weather, and the 4350 better in the hotter weather. As for brass Norma is
quite good, it may do a little better if sorted, as for neck tension it depends in if you want to soft seat and push bullets back with the lands or if you hard seat. Soft seat requires not much more than 1K and hard seat more like 2 to 4K. All this is from my experience and it obviously may have differed with other shooters. My friend shoots lights out using 4831 SC, a lot of testing will do you well.

well thanks guy's your info has been put to use. I went up to 40.5grs of H4350 as it shoots a little better than 40.0grs. I just loaded 54 rounds at 40.5grs of H4350 going to do some testing this weekend. It has shot well with ramshot hunter powder and RL17 hunter will shoot 3,150's easy and RL17 will shoot 3,180's to 3,200. 3,200 was showing pressure. at 41.0grs but RL17 at 40.5gr's will shoot 3,170's 3,180's. BUT is does not group as well as H4350. I know I can make the RL17 shoot as I did it in my 6.5 creedmoore . it seems for RL17 to shoot well,in my experience is neck turned, annealed everyfireing, and about .003 to.004 neck tension. but I just did not feel like doing it. H4350 gives me 3,050's and it shoots well and sure seems to get out there fast and hits hard. I have some IMR4007ssc maybe after deer season when it's cold I will try some. it shot good in the 6.5 creedmoore with light bullets.

any one shooting or ever try a 7 twist barrel? it seems the 115's need a 7 twist and in cold weather a 7 twist shows a little better even for the 105's.

it's kind of hard to tell but those are 1" squares on that target. you can easily cover them three shots with the back of the case.
