6XC Reamer Question

FJIM sounds like you are a lot further ahead than I am getting your rifle together. I was hoping to start shooting my new gun in the fall...probably won't be done. What stock are you getting?

McMillan Game Scout. already have it.

Used the one set up with the 105's/ 108's. The 115's seem to be hard to get and I'll be using this mostly out to 600.

First shots through my 6XCII from JGS. It is a bolt gun so it is the long throat. looks promising and no more brass problems.

I'd run a .2745" neck and at least .120" free bore for the 105s and 107s and .148" for the 115s. It will burn in with room to spare. I'm using a .271" bushing for my bolt guns and .269" for gas guns. 1 minute 30 degrees is an appropriate leade, but others have found success with more shallow leades. I can email a reamer print that I've been using with great success. Also have a hunter using the 70 grain Nosler BT with my reamer and accuracy was very good with a jump. My reamer is .148" FB. Just a side note, Forster has been honing a FL sizer die for us at .270" on the neck, and I've been pleased with their work.

Will this .148 FB 6XC shoot in excess of 3,200fps accuraely, meaning within a high node??? Also, could you explain why someone would shoot a .190 freebore with any similair headed case (6Creed, 6XC,or 6SLR) when I doubt a 105gr hybrid could even be set out that far.. I was thinking in an attempt at lowering peak on set of pressure with a 3,150fps or greater load??? Does that sound right or possible to you?? Thanks

That's only approximately .040" additional FB, so it's possible it could be used with great results for loading long at higher pressure, but I've never tried it.

3200fps with what projectile? I doubt you'd see that with the 105-115, unless you are using RE17 at the upper extreme, but that's just a guess.

.175-.199 freebore in a 6mm Creed, using a .237 bore and H4350 (41.8gr), seated a 105gr hybrid at 2.800-2.820OAL will give you 3,140fps all day long... I'm curious what the better brass of the 6XC will do???

I think that DT stated in his write up on the 6XC bigger didn't work as well and smaller didn't work as well.
So I decided to build an 6XC
