6xc Reamer for Berger 105gr Vld or Match Hybrid

Hi Everyone,
My barrel has a 1:8 twist and I am thus limited to shooting the 105 Berger Vld's or Match Hybrids.

Which reamer should I use for the above bullet(s)? I plan to use Norma brass and will slightly neck turn the brass.

Your comments would be appreciated

In what way are you limited to those bullets? You also have Lapua, Seirra and Hornady 105gr class bullets. I use 105gr Lapua Scenar L in my 6x47L and they shoot lights out.

Joe,,,the 8" twist means that you can shoot bullets as heavy as 105-108,,,you can also shoot lighter bullets,,,90-80-70 gr with good results also,,,,,it is the slow twist 13-14 etc that can only shoot the lil bullets,,,you will find the 8 twist to be very capable from big to little,,,,,,,Roger

My loaded round neck dia. was .271 so I had a .275 neck. The norma brass was very consistent so I didn't neck turn..148 fb put the berger 105 nicely above the donut with about a 10 thou. jump.

I ordered a .274NK and a 104FB but i plan to use the 105VLD hunting bullet and the 87 V-max.. as this is a hunting rifle. I have never tryed it and can have the throat lenghtened if i need to and i can also slightly turn the necks if i need. I just really did not want to turn them. I think .003 to .0035 cleareance is good. for what i do. I think the 105 Hybird needs a longer throat. Talk to PTG they helped me make my decision to try the 104FB.
you never really know untill you try it. I have a dasher with a 104 FB and dont feel its quite long enough for my likeing but it shoots good.

Late post but I run the 105's in a .148 FB with a .2748 neck. They shoot fantastic. The jump is a little longer than I'd like but they're not bothered.

Call Dave Kiff, he'll walk you through the choices. He has a tight, no neck turn "Long Range" reamer that I bought from him. It's not the gynormous neck that D. Tubb runs for XTC. It gives me about .001" (.002" total) all around neck clearance. I use Norma brass as well.

I have burned out 4 or 5 XC barrels.
A .104 freebore will work but I'd get a .095 if I was ordering a reamer.
A .274-.275 neck
