6XC questions on feeding and powders???

I am thinking of building a 6XC and am using a Rem 700 SA. Will this round feed from a BDL reliably or do I need to use AI mags?

Use mine for my main coyote rig and it don't miss a lick feeding as a BDL!! I have enough crap I can catch things on without worrying about a mag hanging down to catch on more crap yet! Just me though but I tain't worried about lookin cool while I am doin the nasty on coyotes. Just don't get the AI mag thing on a hunting rig but I will admit to being slooowwwwww!

H4350 works best with the heavy bullets in 6XC. IMR4350 will probably do just as well but I've have't tried it in my 6XC (although it has been the best powder for me in my .243 and 7 Mauser). RL17 may have slightly more velocity but I have not been able to have it shoot as well as H4350.

You might consider a 6 Creedmoor instead, brass can be made from 6.5 Creedmoor or bought directly from GAP, 6xc is hard to come by these days, the 6 Creedmoor has more boiler room than the 6xc, I also recommend AICS mags, BDL is OK, but AICS give options the BDL box can only dream of.

I'd look hard at a 6x47 Lapua. You'd not be giving up any performance, and a better fit in a 2.80" 700 mag, with properly seated bullets, and feeds like shitt through a goose..

If I had it to do over, I would go with the 6x47L. Has better selection of dies and quality brass with the same performance.

You will do fine with the 6xc and Rem 700 SA. Mine feeds perfectly well as do the several others that I know of. Everyone has their own "pet" 6 this and 6 that : .... but if a 6xc is what you want.... build it. It is just a dandy and accurate round. For what bullets you're wanting to shoot, one of the 4350's or a burn rate there abouts should be just fine too. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out. WD
