Got my new 6XC build back from Mark Pharr in Round Rock, Tx just a few days ago. I finally had a chance last night to do some rough OAL calculations with the DTAC's and a loosely fitted case. Only issue is that my OAL numbers are coming out a little longer than expected. I don't necessarily consider them wrong, just more than what I thought they'd be based on some of the OAL's I've found doing some research.
Again, it's the 6XC. I'm loading the 115 DTAC's and the gun was chambered with a .148 FB. My rough OAL's are coming out around 2.782-2.790. Does that sound right to you guys? It's repeatable, so I don't think anything is screwed up, but again I can't find any reference numbers for people using the .148 FB vs some of the shorter throats for the 107's and such. Do these numbers sound like they might be too far off? I don't have the tool to measure off the ogive, so obviously meplat variations are going to affect final OAL measurements. That's why I settled on 2.780 for break-in and initial load workup. I just want to make sure I'm not mindfudging something here.
