6XC from 6.5x55

Is it possible and how difficult would it be to form 6XC brass from 6.5x55 Swede? I ask because I have some Lapua 6.5x55 reloads which I rarely shoot and thought it would better serve me if I can form it to 6XC.

It would not be that difficult with the right tools.However, the 6.5 Swede would be a poor choice; for one the Swede case is .008-.010 bigger at the .200 datum point, not too mention the tasks of annealing, pushing the shoulder back,neck turning and fireforming.IMHO; even if the case was compatible at the base and one is setup to perform these tasks, it’s false economy for a case that you can purchase for $1 a pop ready to shoot and is found in stock at several places at this moment.


With the right tools,radical forming can be done.

Sell your brass and buy new.
