I am planning on putting together another coyote/deer rifle, so it has to be a repeater. I also want it light weight. I will be using a suppressor, so the barrel will be 18-20" long. I may go with a 1-8 twist.
Right now I have a Kimber Montana that was a 243 win. My friend and I rechambered the factory barrel to a 6XC using my reamer. I believe it must be the newer reamer "cause I can use Norma 6XC brass.
I have a 6BR Lapua with a 1-8 Brux also and really love it. but it is a little heavy and has a longer barrel. I know how hard it is to get some rifles to feed the 6 BR, (Kimber Montana is my future build rifle). So I was thinking the 6XC reamer ran in .100" short would work great with rem or win 22-250 brass since it already has a smaller base diameter about .463" and it should feed, and I already own a 6XC reamer.
The 6x47 Swiss match looked pretty interesting also, but then I would have to get more dies, another reamer, and harder to make brass.
Any body here done this already? Any thoughts?
