6x6.5x47 loads for 88 grn Berger flatbased high BC bullets

Have a new toy and I know loads for 105 grn VLd's is H4350, but would like to plink long range Prairie Dogs in Colorado soon and need load info for above bullets. Can anyone help--thought I would start with H4350 again and try RL15, Varget, N140, and H380

Email you cartridge and bullet to Walt Berger at bergerltd@aol.com. Walt is putting our loading data together for our manual due to be published in 2008. He will reply to your email with a full spread of data.

There will be min and max loads for several powders in the data Walt sends you so for pet loads we are going to need some help from others who have used them. Personally, I think pet loads are not likely to work in every rifle but they can be a good place to start tuning your rifle.

Regards,
Eric

Thanks Eric. I just met Walt here in Kansas City last Monday when he was on his way to the Nationals in St. Louis. Larry Kuse built my 6.5x47. By the way--I agree with you as to pet loads. All the info I could find on the Internet said 38 grns of H4350 for your 6mm 105 VLD. But my gun likes 39 grns powder and .012 into the lands. I believe each gun and barrel are going to be different but at least someone else's experience can give you an intelligent place to start. so far Ive shot several high 1's 5 shot groups and some low 2's at 100 yds with your 105 VLDs
