6x47 questions

Been reloading and shooting for awhile.
Newest build is a 6x47L
Question is, I have 100 6.5x47L brass that I intend to neck down with
a Forster FL sizer. I want to get a custom honed FL sizer, what size neck
will I need to get .002 +- neck tension?
Have almost 1000 Sierra 110's and about 500 107's from my 6 creed days.
Have plenty of H4350 and RL16 and a little VV150 to try.
The barrel is a Rockcreek heavy palma .236 bore 7.5 tw going to be finished
at 26-27 in. (had this barrel for awhile and decided to do a 6x47L)
Any info is helpful

I have been shooting 6x47 for about six years,on second barrel. On both barrels I got more speed and consistantcy with RL 17. Have to be careful not to go too fast mine seem to like about 2950 fps with the 107 SMK.

When you neck down the neck grows thicker. So you are going to have to neck turn. I am running a honed Forster fl die for my 6x47L. It was honed to .265. A little tight but as i get more reloadings the neck will thin. I found this was the best sizing die for lowest runout of the sized case.

It's a no neck turn chamber. I'm thinking .265 will be too tight.

I've been shooting a 6x47L for several years and have always used a .268 bushing for .002 neck tension. Lapua no-turn brass.

The best way to find proper bushing size is to load a dummy round with the brass and bullet you intend to use. Then measure the neck diameter with the seated bullet. Use a micrometer not a caliper to measure. So if you get a loaded neck diameter of .270" subtract .003" or .267" for the size of bushing you will use for approximate neck tension of .002". There is approximate brass spring back of .001". Keep in mind that particular lot of brass will differ from others so neck tension will change based on brass spring back from that particular lot. Spring back will also change with subsequent firings. You may want to try bushings .001" bigger or smaller with your particular load. A .002" neck turn clean up is recommended. I've been shooting since 6x47L for 15 years and love the current configuration I shoot which is 6X47L- 40 degree shoulder.

I know the simple formula for figuring neck tension. Lately seems more shooters have been going with more than less
tension (.002-.003 instead of .001-.002)
Wanted to see what most of you (precision) shooters are leaning towards. Also wanted to have all my reloading gear
ready when my barrel shows up. Really all I need is the FL sizer neck size. Going to send to Forster to hone it out.

The smith I use and really like, does a great job of chambering (3 shot one hole rifles, when I do my part) has the no turn reamer for the 6x47L
so I'm having to work around that.
