6X47 load suggestions/data

thinking of using 87g vmaxes, 88g Berger varmint HP, 105 Amaxes. Never shot this round. I have Varget, RL-15, H4831sc,
not opposed to getting more / new Vithavouri powder. .100" freebore. any suggestions?

My pet load is a mild 40.0gr/H4350 - 88gr FB Berger's & BR4's. This load has produced several 10 shot groups under 2" horizontal x 1.5" vertical at 500yds, Bartlein 28" HV 8 tw with .269 nk.

I have had the best accuracy with 85 grain bullets in my 10 twist barrel with H4350 followed closely by H414. Re 17 is always slightly larger group but well within minute of antelope or coyote! I use both H4350 and Re 17 with the 105 grain Speer hunting bullet and again H4350 is always producing slightly better groups. Tom

I just switched from the 105 Bergers to the 105 Amaxs and they shoot into the low .2s with 38.5grs of H4350 just touching the lands.

If for varminting i would highly recommend you try RL17 with the 105 AMAX.
I am currently using 39.9gr @ 3181fps, ita not the greatest looking group at 100 m but .5" is ok .
The equivelant load using N560 is a mere 2865fps but did shoot in the .2's @ 100 m and was a very very mild load.

Hi all
I have a 1 in 8 26" tube throwing 105 VLDs
41.4 grain of H4350 it groups better than I can shoot around 2900 fps

Tried R17 and went up to 41.4 and it grouped just as well and now running at 3250 fps with ES in single digits

Dilemma

Do I run in those stratospheric velocity and what is my barrel life going to be like ?

Just by changing powder I am gaining 12.8% in velocity ! with similar accuracy keeping all other parameters constant

I only shoot paper at 600 with this gun

38.0 gr. N550 with the 105 gr. A-Max @ 3,070 FPS.
40.5 gr. N550 with the 87 gr. V-Max @ 3,350 FPS.

I just finished setting up my 6x47 with the 105 amaxs using 38.5gr of H4350 and I was gitting around 3000 to 3050fps out of it with great accuracy.

They are talking about the 6-6.5x47 Lapua, or 6x47 Lapua.
